Slackline in South Africa
The everyday life of school pupils in South Africa is frequently very problematic. The donation of a complete set from slackstar therefore came in very handy. Lukas Bray has brought the children much pleasure with his initiative. He and the sports teacher have made walking on the slackline accessible to the pupils, although this wasn’t always easy due to the great interest.

“Our pupils were always cheerful and in a good mood although the families often have very limited financial means. Often there is not enough money to buy even the barest necessities for the school, such as pens and exercise books, which they then simply didn’t have. It was no rarity for pupils from other classes to come into their brother’s or sister’s classroom to borrow a book that both of them use as an exercise book.”

The school is situated in a rural township about 20 km from Estcourt. Estcourt is located in the heartland some 200 km from Durban at the foot of the Drakensberg mountains. It is a marvellous area for all mountain fans who like hiking, climbing or daily tours through nature parks.
